In line with the HAIRC (Health Aging in Residential Care) Oakfield has developed an extensive activities program delivered by well trained staff members  and helped by our wonderful and team of volunteers. All involved in activities are offered extensive training in activities programs and in dementia skills training at the Oakfield education centre.

Music sessions (professional performers), bingo, cards, board games, movie club, sing-a-longs

life story books, reminiscence therapy, Sonas, sensory/aroma therapy, pet therapy, hydrotherapy

  • Social

parties, barbeques, outings, weekly coffee mornings, sing-a-longs, men’s club and ladies beauty day

  • Fitness

physical therapist sessions led twice weekly in our fully equipped gym; fun & games, boules, pitch & putt on our own course, wheelchair basketball, skittles, beanbags.

  • Community

 social outings, volunteers support and involvement, parties, community events

  • Creative

 library, poetry readings in library, arts & crafts, gardening, clock making, flower arranging and baking.

  • Spiritual

Weekly Roman Catholic Mass, weekly Rosary with the Legion of Mary

Regular Church of Ireland Services

  • Festivities

 All festive days, birthdays and holidays are celebrated.
